Transforming Long-Term Care, One Innovation at a Time
OUR MISSION
Empowering Safer Care
Seniors and individuals with disabilities are often left vulnerable, facing abuse, neglect, and inadequate care in nursing homes and long-term care (LTC) facilities. H.E.A.R.T. 4 Seniors Foundation is on a mission to change this. By funding innovative alert systems and advanced technology, we improve Safety, Dignity, and Quality of Life for seniors, while empowering caregivers to provide better, faster care. As the number of seniors grows globally, our solutions are more urgent than ever, ensuring that every individual receives the care they deserve.
THE GROWING AGING POPULATION
By 2050, the number of people aged 65 and older is expected to double, reaching over 1.5 billion worldwide. This rapid increase presents a major challenge for healthcare systems, which are often ill-prepared to meet the complex needs of seniors. Without the implementation of advanced technology to monitor health and safety, seniors remain vulnerable to neglect and abuse.

THE NEGLECTED AND OVERLOOKED
Sadly, neglect and abuse are all too common in long-term care facilities. Studies show that 1 in 6 seniors experience abuse, while many cases go unreported. With undertrained staff and high turnover rates, the quality of care is often compromised, leading to preventable injuries and mental health issues among residents. Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are a significant concern in long-term care facilities, with over one-third of all infections in these facilities being UTIs. Many seniors are left in soiled garments for over 8 hours, increasing their risk of infections and other complications. However, with state-of-the-art monitoring technologies, we have been able to reduce these times to less than an hour, significantly lowering the incidence of UTIs and other life-threatening conditions (HQIN)(Nursing Homes Abuse).

FAILING OUR SENIORS
The Impact of Abuse, Neglect, and Falls in Long Term Care Facilities
Long-term care (LTC) facilities are designed to be safe havens for seniors and individuals with disabilities, yet they have become environments where abuse, neglect, and preventable harm are common. With over 13 million seniors in LTC worldwide, too many face inadequate care, leading to physical and emotional suffering.

NEGLECT IN LONG-TERM CARE
Neglect in long-term care facilities is a widespread issue, with over 1 in 6 seniors experiencing some form of neglect or abuse. Staffing shortages and undertraining leave residents without the proper care and supervision they need, often resulting in physical and emotional harm. Addressing these issues with technology can provide better monitoring and faster response times.
THE DANGER OF FALLS
Falls are the leading cause of injury among seniors, responsible for over 2.8 million hospitalizations each year. LTC facilities often lack proper monitoring and preventive measures, leaving seniors vulnerable. Implementing alert systems that detect fall risks and movements can reduce these incidents and ensure a faster response from caregivers.

MENTAL HEALTH CRISIS
Over 60% of LTC residents suffer from mental health challenges, including depression and anxiety, often worsened by isolation and inadequate care. A lack of proper emotional support exacerbates these issues, making mental health a critical focus for improving the overall well-being of seniors in care facilities.
EMPOYEE TURNOVER IN LTC
High turnover rates in LTC facilities, currently at 53.9%, are driven by burnout, inadequate training, and poor working conditions. This creates a cycle of inconsistent care for residents. Introducing monitoring technology has proven to reduce turnover to 2%, ensuring better care quality and improving job satisfaction for healthcare workers.

THE SOLUTION
How Technology Can Solve the Crisis
The H.E.A.R.T. 4 Seniors Foundation believes that advanced technology is the key to transforming long-term care facilities and improving the lives of seniors and people with disabilities. Our funded technologies go beyond traditional care methods by offering real-time monitoring, automated alert systems, and predictive analytics, creating safer, more responsive care environments. Here’s how these solutions make a measurable impact:
PROACTIVE MONITORING & ALERTS
86%
faster response times
Technology allows caregivers to detect early warning signs of health issues or falls before they become emergencies. Smart sensors and wearable devices continuously track residents' vitals, mobility, incontinence, and environmental conditions. This proactive approach leads to 86% faster response times, allowing caregivers to intervene before critical incidents occur, significantly reducing the need for hospitalizations.

REDUCING HOSPITALIZATIONS & HEALTH CRISIS
93%
reduction in hospitalizations
Preventable hospitalizations are a major issue in LTC facilities, with falls and untreated health issues accounting for a significant portion. By implementing advanced alert systems, facilities have seen a 93% reduction in hospitalizations, as these systems enable early detection of health issues and provide timely interventions. This means fewer injuries, reduced healthcare costs, and an improved quality of life for seniors.
IMPROVING MENTAL HEALTH & CAREGIVER SATISFACTION
2%
turnover rate
The introduction of monitoring technology not only improves physical health but also mental well-being. Residents feel safer and more secure knowing they are continuously monitored. Moreover, caregivers experience reduced burnout and turnover due to a low 2% turnover rate in facilities that implement these systems. With less stress and more support, caregivers can focus on providing compassionate, personalized care to residents.

PREDICTIVE ANALYTICS FOR LONG-TERM HEALTH
30%
reduction in critical health events
One of the most groundbreaking aspects of technology is the ability to use data to predict future health outcomes. Facilities using predictive analytics have seen a 30% reduction in critical health events, allowing caregivers to address issues before they escalate. By analyzing real-time data from residents, these systems can forecast potential health risks and enable caregivers to take preventive measures. This ensures that seniors receive timely, personalized care that adapts to their changing needs, while reducing overall healthcare costs.
Take Action Today
Whether you donate, volunteer, or partner with us, your involvement has the power to transform the care that seniors receive. Together, we can ensure that no senior is left behind in a system that too often neglects their needs. Join us in revolutionizing care for those who need it most.

Your donation directly funds life-saving technologies that ensure seniors receive the care they deserve. With your help, we can implement advanced alert systems that prevent falls, reduce hospitalizations, and improve overall care standards in long-term care facilities. Every dollar you give contributes to restoring Safety, Dignity, and Quality of Life for vulnerable populations.
